All the details on Virgin's latest points-boosting offer.

Boost alert! Virgin Australia is running a promotion offering double points on new flight bookings.

The deal is largely being promoted via email, but you can opt into the deal even if you haven't received the mail. Just visit the Virgin website and enter your Velocity membership number to activate it. Make sure you've done that before booking any flights.

The offer applies to all Virgin Australia flight and holiday bookings made before 24 July 2018. It covers flights up until 13 June 2019.

Virgin domestic flights usually earn 5 points per $1 spent. With this offer, a $100 flight that normally earns you 500 points will now add 1,000 to your account. Silver, Gold and Platinum flyers can earn bonus points on bookings; note that these won't be doubled during this promotion.

Handily, Virgin Australia is running a number of sales at the moment, including discounts for island destinations. Check out our full list of current Virgin sales and promo codes to save on your flight as well as earning the bonus points.

To further boost your points total, make sure you pay with a card that will earn you Velocity Points as well. If your card doesn't do that, our guide to Velocity credit cards can help you out.
