What is Dogelon Mars?
As the name alludes, Dogelon Mars aims to serve as a successor to the many dog-themed meme-coins that have progressed into the cryptocurrency markets over recent years. Playing on the themes set by coins such as Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, and Floki Inu, Dogelon Mars uses humour to carry its vision through the cryptocurrency community. Dogelon Mars' name was chosen as a nod to both Dogecoin and Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, who has been a big supporter of the meme-coin, DOGE. The reference to mars is then an additional spin on the 'to the moon' meme that is commonly found within the cryptocurrency community. The premise of the project is built around the main dog character, known as Dogelon. New comics of Dogelon are released periodically to the official project website. Like all other meme-cryptocurrencies, it can be used to transfer wealth, but other than the comic releases, the project's website does not outline any other utility within the Dogelon ecosystem. Despite the official project website claiming that Dogelon Mars has made radical improvements to improve its overall utility and design framework since its market debut, Dogelon still suffers from many transactional bottlenecks. As the token was built on the Ethereum blockchain, its native transaction fees are quite high, which has made it unusable as a cross border payment system. To enhance the coins capabilities, the project has now combined with the Polygon layer-2 network in a bid to curb high gas fees.
