Beauty product of the week: D’Lumiere Esthétique Day Defence Moisturiser SPF15
If you've got dry skin that feels like it needs a hug, this moisturiser is for you.
Why we love this product
With the ridiculous heat that we've been facing in Australia lately, I've definitely been on somewhat of a skincare kick. Anything that can replenish even just a little bit of moisture into my poor, dehydrated skin is more than welcome.
I'd held onto the D'Lumiere Esthétique Day Defence Moisturiser for a while and hadn't had the opportunity to really test it out, but over the last couple of weeks, I've found myself reaching for it more and more.
I've had my fair share of skin complaints (dryness, paleness, sensitivity... the list goes on), but somehow this moisturiser has managed to eclipse my regular go-to products and earn a place in my handbag. For someone who wasn't aware of the brand before this, it's safe to say that it's been a hell of an introduction.
Probably my favourite thing about the moisturiser is that it's SPF15+. I've been very conscious of the sun lately (and can you blame me?), so I'm striving to use more SPF-friendly products in my day-to-day. If you're not using SPF products, your skin will be very mad at you in the future, and you don't want that, do you?
Not only that, the product also contains hyaluronic acid, which serves to add extra hydration and minimises the appearance of any lines and wrinkles. Now, I'm not wrinkled just yet, but I've always been a fan of the "defence is the best offence" strategy when it comes to my skin. The longer I can put off getting fine lines, the better!
For anyone worried about the ingredients, the moisturiser is paraben free and all D'Lumiere Esthétique products are never tested on animals. Not only that, but they're all locally made in Sydney and have been developed by renowned cosmetic surgeon Dr Daniel Lanzer. There's an entire range with cleansers and serums if you want to really round out your skincare regime.
Since using the moisturiser my face seems a lot more supple and even, but the real benefit is how good it feels to touch. My makeup doesn't stick to any dry patches if I use this before application and let it soak in, and the smoothness – wow!
Finally, if you're as scent-oriented as I am when it comes to products, it smells amazing. It's fresh without being overpowering and it lasts on the skin as a faint but delicate fragrance. Who could ask for more?
Look, this moisturiser isn't exactly what I'd call cheap, coming in at $100 direct from the brand. But I will say that if you're willing to spend that extra cash, it's definitely a product worth considering. I realise that people may be dissuaded by the price tag, but the D'Lumiere Esthétique website does offer zipPay and if you get the opportunity to try it out, just give it a chance.
Where you can get it
The product is currently only available on the D'Lumiere Esthétique website, so you'll have to head online to get your fix. And fortunately, you can order this product from anywhere in the world, as they offer both Australian and international delivery. For $20 you can even get next-day delivery for whenever you're facing a skincare emergency. Otherwise, you'll receive your products within 2-7 business days from the date you order.
