How do I get started with DiDi?
DiDi pick-up zones at Melbourne Avalon Airport
To request a driver, open the DiDI app, find your location and then tap "Request".
DiDi is also available at Melbourne Tullamarine Airport and to accommodate riders there are dedicated pick-up spots depending on which terminal you fly into.
Passengers flying into Terminals 1, 2 or 3 should follow the "Rideshare" signs which will lead you to the Rideshare Pick-up lane outside T2 between the bus stop and the short-term parking lot.
If you're leaving Terminal 4, you'll need to get to Level 2 inside the T4 Ground Transport Hub.
Here's how to request a driver once you're at the pick-up spot:
- Open the app
- Pick the right terminal departure location
- Tap "Request"
A rideshare access fee of $4.48 applies which will be added to your DiDi fare automatically.

Geelong currently has one ride option with DiDi. DiDi Express is ideally suited for everyday rides of four people or less.
The cost of your ride is made up of a base fare, distance fare per kilometre, time fare per minute and tolls, surcharges and fees.
Dynamic pricing (or surge pricing) can sometimes apply when there is a higher demand, for example during peak hour traffic or when there are fewer drivers. You'll be notified of any increase at the time of booking before you decide to ride.
To give you an idea of prices, a DiDi Express ride from Melbourne Avalon Airport to Eastern Beach is $32.60.

Do DiDi cars have baby seats?
No, DiDi doesn't provide baby seats as an option in Geelong.
Is DiDi pet-friendly?
Pets can be accepted but only at the discretion of the driver. Contact the driver before your ride arrives to advise that you have a pet with you. Service animals will be accommodated as per applicable accessibility laws.
