Get in the spooky spirit with these seasonally appropriate kicks.

Having already dropped a Halloween collection inspired by Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, Vans has now released another pair of kicks just in time for the spooky season. This time, the sneakers celebrate Mexico's Día de los Muertos festival, where locals gather to remember loved ones who have passed on.

Price: US$65

Where to buy: Vans US store, though we're hoping they'll arrive on the Australian Vans online store sometime soon.

Available now from the Vans US site, the iconic SK8-Hi silhouette takes on an all black canvas and suede upper. The sleek look is contrasted by a large white sugar skull on both the medial and lateral sides. In true sugar skull tradition, the graphic is highly detailed with fluorescent yellow teeth, a teal outline and decorated designs of spiderwebs and flowers over the skull.

The skull itself sits on a bunch of yellow and orange flowers, similar to the flower crowns often worn during the Day of the Dead festival. An orange "Off The Wall" tongue badge, black laces, a black rubber midsole and signature rubber waffle outsoles round out the design.

While they are yet to land here in Australia, we often see Vans collections arrive a few weeks after the official US release date, meaning that we may yet be able to shop them here. If they do drop, we expect to see them first on the Australian Vans online store, as well as in usual Vans stockists like Platypus Shoes and Hype DC.

Vans isn't the only one getting in the spirit this year, with sportswear brand Nike having already released several themed kicks. The label also looked to the Día de los Muertos celebrations, dropping three new iterations of its classic silhouettes in a reflective Day of the Dead print.

Nike didn't stop there though, also releasing a Halloween edition SB Dunk Low titled Night of Mischief, an eerie kids' Air Max 98 and a glow-in-the-dark Air Force 1 dubbed Black Skeleton.
