Dawn Protocol (DAWN) is an ERC-777 token on the Ethereum blockchain that is used as a payment method for competitive e-sports and gaming. Players can use DAWN tokens to access prize pools available for winning tournaments and competitions in a slew of popular online multiplayer and battle royale games, including Dota 2, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Call of Duty: Warzone. It was created in 2016, and at the time, it was called the FirstBlood 1ST token. In 2020, the project began a token swap to convert Firstblood 1ST over to the newly-named Dawn Protocol. As of May 2021, 80% of 1ST tokens have been converted to DAWN, with users voting to burn the unconverted tokens in order to reduce supply and support demand. Dawn often offers prizes of up to $10,000 to its winning players and has built a large ecosystem of competitive gamers around its platform.
