This could be your last chance to save before Christmas.

If you somehow managed to miss out on all the Black Friday sale madness don't worry because Cyber Monday has just started.

In case you hadn't already heard about this epic sale event it was officially coined back in 2005 by a member of the National Retail Foundation when the organisation noticed increase of online based sales the Monday after Thanksgiving.

Cyber Monday was originally supposed to be an online based shopping event for smaller digital retailers that didn't have the bang to compete with the major players that participate in the Black Friday sales. But the event evolved. Today, the smaller retailers and the massive retailers all participate in Cyber Monday.

This is great news for shoppers looking to score a bargain, especially if you missed on the Black Friday sales. Many retailers extend their Black Friday sales across the weekend and into Monday. But many retailers will have a separate offer on the Monday because Cyber Monday typically plays in a different space.

According to an article published on The Mirror there were 45% more apparel deals on Cyber Monday than on Black Friday. Similarly there were 50% more shoe deals. So savvy fashionistas should take full advantage of the fashion and apparel deals on offer. For those of you after homewares and electronics, Black Friday is the sale day you need to shop. Don't despair if you missed out. Plenty of Black Friday sales get extended into Cyber Monday.

This is one of the last opportunities shoppers will have to save on their Christmas shopping so consumers are encouraged to take advantage of these offers while they're available.
