Pricing varies. You can expect to pay around $25-$30 for a pack of 2 rapid antigen tests. Many retailers only offer testing kits in packs of 5 which are generally priced between $50 and $100. Some stores are only offering bulk buying solutions where you'll need to purchase in packs of 20+. These are usually available for $220-$350.
After weeks of limited availability, most major Australia retailers now have RAT kits available to buy in-store, including Woolworths, Coles and Chemist Warehouse.

The government currently provides free PCR tests at COVID-19 testing clinics throughout the state. The test can be taken by anyone who is either asymptomatic or may be showing COVID-19 symptoms.
However, the current SA Health messaging is that only people who have COVID-19 symptoms, live in a household with a positive case or have "been at an exposure location" should get a PCR test.
Furthermore, waiting times have become extremely lengthy for both getting a test and obtaining your results as the number of testing clinics has been reduced. In South Australia it has been reported that wait time to get a test is up to 8 hours long.
A free PCR test also cannot be used for international travel. Instead, you will need to pay for a test from a private clinic up to 72 hours before you fly.

COVID-19 testing for pre-departure international travel clearance is only available at private pathology collection centres. This means you cannot rely on a free test from a COVID testing clinic. Instead, you will need to pay a fee for a COVID-19 Travel Certificate.
Fortunately, it's not too difficult to book a PCR test and get your certification for as little as $100. You can arrange a test from a number of clinics around South Australia up to 72 hours before you fly. The amount you pay will depend on the clinic and how quickly you need the results.

A number of private clinics provide PCR tests for travel from collection centre locations around South Australia. Clinics operating in Adelaide and wider South Australia include Australian Clinical Labs, Clinpath and SA Pathology.
To book a test, simply head to the website of your preferred (or most local) testing provider and follow the relevant appointment booking instructions outlined. Many of the testing locations don't actually require an appointment and offer services on a walk-in basis.
An Express RT-PCR Swab test from Wickham Histopath Pathology Drive-Through Clinic costs $140. If you are travelling to China, you will also need to take a Blood Antibody (Serology) test. Both tests combined cost $190.
