Costco is officially selling online and it's a 2020 miracle.

There's just something special about Costco. It's a bit of an "if you know, you know" situation where if you've been before, you understand the shopping heaven the store is.

However, the major (and only) drawback of the store is that it's a bit of a mission to get to. There are only 12 Costco warehouses nationwide so there are a lot of Aussies missing out on this fabulous experience.

Until now.

The brand has finally announced its emergence into the online shopping sphere in Australia and I don't think I've been this happy in years. Yes, you will actually be able to shop online at Costco and have your goodies delivered to your door. However, there is a small catch.

You must be a member to enjoy these beautiful benefits and honestly, that's totally fair enough Costco, I understand. So in other words, you need to have a registered online account and it will also be pricier than shopping in one of the wholesaler's massive warehouses.

Unfortunately, membership isn't free and costs $60 a year but in my experience, this has been worth every damn penny.

The shipping costs will be included in the online prices too, which will mean slightly higher prices on some goods.

The brand also intends on selling some items exclusively online and my mind is already running wild with what those might be.

This change is set to come later this month and members will be notified when the site is live and available in their area. The supermarket currently offers delivery to business customers within 20km of their Docklands warehouse in Melbourne.

"We're thrilled to share that online shopping is coming to Australia soon," the Costco website says. "Just like shopping at the warehouse, this service will be available exclusively to our members."

2020 has been a wild year for supermarket shopping. Coles announced it will remove checkouts within the next 10 years and now Costco is online – what's next? I can Uber order puppies to play with for a few hours? Actually... someone make that happen.
