Save 25% by flying Virgin Australia compared to Air New Zealand.

Virgin Australia is heating things up, running a sale on flights to Rarotonga on the Cook Islands. Flights from Sydney start from $577 return for select March travel dates, with fares from other cities not far behind.

This includes Melbourne to Rarotonga from $593 return, Brisbane to Rarotonga from $621 and the Gold Coast to Rarotonga from $724 return.

Flight dates vary per route but generally range from February to July 2018.

Compared with partner airline Air New Zealand, you're looking at savings of 25% off, with Sydney to Rarotonga on sale for $385 each way, or $770 return at the moment.

Those are numbers you can't argue about.

The winter months from July-October are peak season months for the Cook Islands as they provide the most optimal weather conditions for sunning and outdoor activities. What you'll want to do is try and avoid the rainy hurricane season, which runs between December and April.

Notably, this sale does encompass some of these dates. So, if you can, book for closer to the end of this sale period to experience the island at its finest.

These flights are on sale until midnight 13 December, so you'll need to hustle to take advantage of them. They can all be booked direct through Virgin Australia here or via the links below.
