What’s in the Converse Pride 2020 collection?
Find out when and where you can get your hands on Converse's new "More Colour, More Pride" 2020 collection.
Every year as Pride Month rolls around, we see fashion labels drop rainbow-covered collections. One of the brands that has maintained consistency since 2015 is Converse.
The Pride 2019 collection commemorated the 50th anniversary of the first-ever Pride march. This year, things are getting elevated.
Converse's Pride 2020 collection is inspired by the "More Colour, More Pride" flag which can be seen through the decorated rainbow colours. You should also be able to spot an additional black and brown stripe, and these are a representation of the Black and Latinx LGBTQIA+ communities.
The brand has decided to completely re-imagine the classic Chuck 70 and Chuck Taylor All Star silhouettes. But did they stop there? No, Converse is also coming out with a range of garments and accessories, specifically a T-shirt, singlet and hat.
Take your pick from the various sneaker styles on offer. We love all the options available; you can go for a subtle plain pair decorated with fun colours, or you can go all out and pick one of the bright and vivid sequinned kicks. It's all up to you!
Converse is also utilising its customisation platform, Converse By You, to offer styles honouring the bisexual, pansexual, non-binary and transgender flags. Customers can personalise their kicks in a way they've never been able to before.
Release details
The Converse Pride 2020 collection has a release date set for 29 May. This is more than likely a US-specific date, but we're hoping to see these kicks drop on the Australian site within the next few weeks.
You can shop directly from Converse online, but we also love stockists like THE ICONIC, ASOS, Platypus Shoes and HYPE DC.
Need any more convincing? According to a press release, Converse has decided to donate more than US$1 million to local and global LGBTQIA+ organisations.
