Plus, how you can win a trip for two on it.

Adventure tour company Contiki has unveiled its latest trip through Asia which takes you to India's relaxing south.

Named the Southern Spice tour, it's all about exploring the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of a part of country that doesn't live up to the busy city life stereotype. Altogether, you'll spend 11 days making your way from east to west with highlights including spending a night on a traditional Keralan houseboat floating down the canal, visiting temples, tea planations and tiger reserves and discovering the French-inspired Pondicherry and its delicious fusion food offerings.

Accommodation, internal transport and authentic meals are included. And if you're the type who loves to go off script, you can add on some extra inclusions such as a local family cooking demonstration and a traditional dressing experience.

The first tour commences on 18 January with many already booked out until May. Prices start from $2,108 per person, though if you book before 15 December you can use this coupon code to get an extra $100 off your trip.

The best bit is that it's valid with other promotional offers, including early payment discount, and to secure your spot you only need to put down a $200 deposit within 7 days of booking.

You can find out more and see which dates are still available here.

Win this trip

If you're feeling lucky and prefer a free ride (who doesn't?) Contiki is also giving you the chance to win a trip for two on this tour. All you have to do is enter through the Contiki website here and answer the question: "What would be your highlight and why, on an escape to Southern India?". Hint, we've mentioned a few above.

This competition is open until midnight 30 November. Best of luck!
