Comdex is a decentralised platform designed to allow the trading and minting of synthetic digital assets. Synthetic crypto assets (known on Comdex as cAssets) are tokens that represent an underlying commodity, and their integration into blockchain-related finance is seen as a key development toward merging traditional finance with the cryptocurrency world. They are essentially tokenised derivatives.
Comdex’s application is built on the Cosmos blockchain, and the platform has a number of features beyond the buying and selling of synthetic assets. Users can mint their own cAssets based on a reputable price oracle, and then swap them utilising Comdex’s automated market maker (AMM). Thanks to the Cosmos network’s capabilities, platform users can access a number of bridges to ensure assets and transactions can be executed cross-chain.
CMDX is the native utility token of the Comdex platform and plays a number of integral roles. For starters, CMDX functions as a governance token, allowing holders to participate in protocol proposals. Furthermore, it is used as collateral for minting synthetic assets, and can also be staked and mined through liquidity provision.
