Earn flybuys points as you shop and take control of your spending without a credit check with the Coles Reloadable MasterCard.

The Coles Reloadable MasterCard is a prepaid card that gives you the ability to stay in control of your spending. Since this is not a credit card, there is no credit check involved as part of the application process. You have to pay a nominal one-time fee to get this card, and it does not charge any load fees or monthly fees. This card comes linked to the flybuys rewards program, so you can look forward to earning flybuys points each time you use your card to make a purchase.

Coles Reloadable MasterCard review

If you’re looking for the convenience that comes with paying on plastic but don’t want to get a credit card, you can consider getting a prepaid card like the Coles Reloadable MasterCard. You can add funds to this card as you like, and given its MasterCard connect, you can use it worldwide.

This card gives you the ability to earn flybuys points, and you can accumulate points faster when you use it overseas or at select partner merchants. While you have the option of redeeming your points as cash when shopping at Coles Supermarkets, you can also choose from a host of other rewards through the flybuys website.

Benefits of Coles Reloadable MasterCard

This prepaid card offers a number of benefits, including the following:

  • Global acceptance. To use this card, all you have to do is look for the Mastercard logo at EFTPOS terminals or ATMs internationally. You can also use this prepaid MasterCard to pay bills and make purchases online and over the phone.
  • Rewards. You earn one flybuys point for every two dollars you spend in Australia and one flybuys point for every dollar you spend overseas. When you use this card to shop at flybuys partners, you get to earn even more points. You can convert your flybuys points to flybuys dollars, which you can use to shop at merchants like Coles, Target, Kmart, and First Choice Liquor. You can also opt for gift cards, vouchers, Velocity Points and a range of merchandise.
  • No credit checks. If you don’t have good creditworthiness, or if you don’t want to go through a credit check for any other reason, getting the Coles Reloadable card makes sense. This is simply because getting this card does not involve any kind of credit, and so, there’s no credit check to worry about.

Coles Reloadable MasterCard features

Pay attention to the following if you plan to get this prepaid MasterCard:

  • Fees. You have to pay a one-time $10 fee to get this card. Then, you can load it for free whenever you like, and you don’t have to pay any ongoing account keeping fees.
  • Loading your card. You can load your card with a minimum of $10 and up to a maximum of $1,000. The first time you load your card, you cannot load more than $100. While the initial limit of the card is $1,000 the card provider might give you the ability to increase the same to $10,000.
  • One card, not two. This prepaid card comes with your unique flybuys barcode, so you don’t have to carry a separate flybuys card.
  • MasterCard Contactless. This technology enables you to use your card to make contactless payments for purchases less than $100.
  • MasterCard SecureCode. This online program offers extra security when the details of your card make it to the online world. Upon detecting high-risk transactions, the program asks for answers to personal questions in order to proceed.
  • Zero liability. The MasterCard Zero Liability Policy ensures you don’t have to take responsibility for unauthorised or fraudulent transactions made using your card, provided you use your card responsibly.

To our knowledge you can t get free delivery with the Coles Reloadable card, this is just a feature for the credit card. Sometimes the tap function doesn’t work and it ask me to swipe or insert the card. Everytime I did that it always declined. Should I select the Cheque or Credit account?

      Hi Leroy,

      Thank you for your question.

Although the Coles Reloadable MasterCard is a prepaid card, if you use it to access funds or on purchases, you have to select “credit.”

      Cheers,

Hi Mary, thanks for your question!

For clarification, may I ask what you meant by “building credit with Coles Reloadable MasterCard?” This product is a prepaid card and is not a credit card. You can load this card with funds and you have the ability to stay in control of your spending. Since this is not a credit card, your application for this card does not involve any kind of credit check.

I hope this has answered your question. Please feel free to send us a message again if you have further clarifications.

      Cheers,
      May

When topping up how long will it for funds to be available for use? Is it immediately or a day or two?

Hi JH, thanks for your inquiry!

Coles advises to allow 3 business days for the funds to be added to your card’s available balance.

      Cheers,

With the Coles Reloadable Prepaid M/C, your website says :

“Save $10 off your shop instantly at the checkout. Simply redeem 2,000 flybuys points at the checkout to instantly take $10 off your Coles Supermarket shop”

Does this mean the card comes with a bonus 2000 flybuy points, or does it mean that the customer will need to redeem 2000 points from his existing point balance in order to get the $10 off?

    Thanks.

      Hi AC,

      Thanks for your question.

This means that once you earn 2,000 flybuys points you’ll be able to receive a $10 discount at the Coles checkout.

      I hope this has helped.

      Cheers,

      Sally

My main objection for using a Prepaid credit card would be when purchasing on line as I do not wish to display credit card numbers, personal data on the computer. However to purchase a Re-loadable Master card, it appears this is what I have to do. Isn’t there any other way to obtain/load a card without giving details of my bank account or existing credit card?

      Hi Kay,

      Thanks for your question.

Unfortunately, you can only purchase the Coles Reloadable MasterCard online. However, you can purchase the Coles Gift MasterCard in store.

Coles ensures their customers that financial details are kept secure to avoid any fraudulent activity in the case you do decide to purchase the card online.

      Cheers,

      Sally

Hi Do you know where I can purchase the top up voucher for loading fund into the card?

      Debbie | November 30, 2015

      Hi Eric,
      Thank you for your inquiry.

You can log in to the Prepaid Service Centre, select the card that you would like to Top-Up and click the ‘Top-Up’ button. You may Top-Up via direct deposit from your bank account, MasterCard or Visa debit card.
However, please note that currently there is no option to Top-Up your Coles Reloadable MasterCard on Coles Supermarkets.

To know your maximum reload amount, please go through this page.
      I hope this helps.

      Thanks,
      Debbie

      Hi Kively,

      Thanks for your inquiry.

You can load value onto your card through purchasing a Top-up Voucher from selected Coles stores, electronic funds transfer from your Australian bank account or using a Visa or MasterCard debit card. I’ve also sent you a copy of the Product Disclosure Statement on your email for future references.

      I hope this has helped.

      Cheers,
      Arra
