Coles Mobile adds double data deal

Coles Mobile is running a double data deal on recharges for the next month and a half.
Coles Mobile already had the most unusual of the mobile offerings provided by a major supermarket, with a simple pay-as-you-go 60 day plan and a $10 plan that gave you 10 days of access that most closely mirrored Optus’ $1 My Prepaid Daily plans. That’s probably not coincidental, given that the Coles Mobile service runs on the Optus network.
Coles Mobile’s latest deal gives users an additional 400MB of data to use with each recharge period if you are on the $10 plan. Given the standard allowance was already 400MB, it is quite reasonably calling this "Double data". The offer does not apply to the $10 pay-as-you-go deal, which charges for data at 12c per MB.
The deal runs through to 1 March 2016, and applies to any $10 recharge made during that period. Unused data does not roll over into a fresh recharge period, however. The text on Coles Mobile’s web site indicates that it intends to flip back to the standard 400MB inclusion after 1 March 2016.
If you’re keen on picking up mobile recharges along with your spuds and cheap milk, it is worth comparing the offers each of the Australian supermarket giants has. IGA is yet to join the supermarket MVNO fray, but here is how Coles Mobile stacks up against the prepaid offers of Woolworths Mobile and ALDI Mobile.
