Supermarket wars: Coles slashes pick up time for Click&Collect
If you're looking to shop with Coles Online, you can now pick up your order in just 90 minutes.
One of Australia's favourite supermarkets Coles has just decided to launch 90-minute Click&Collect in Australia.
The bold move comes at a time where everyone seems to be online shopping, especially with their groceries. Whether you're a little time poor, happen to be quarantining at home or are simply trying to avoid the shops, you can now place your grocery order online and collect it just 90 minutes later.
This short time frame is one of the quickest we've seen on the market, with Woolworths offering two hours.
Click&Collect Rapid is now available at more than 400 Coles supermarkets across the country. You can even take your pick from an extended range of products, and the popular Coles hot roast chicken made the cut!
Is your order eligible for Click&Collect Rapid?
Click&Collect Rapid orders must not exceed 40 items, with a minimum spend of $30 and a flat fee of $5. Then, your online order will be picked, packed and ready for collection between 2:30pm and 5pm. The available collection windows will appear each day from 1pm on Coles Online.
James Geddes is the Head of Network Development and Customer Delivery at Coles. In a press release, he said:
"Whether it's meat and veggies for a last-minute dinner, pet food for your dog, or making sure you have fresh bread for school lunches for the following day, Click&Collect Rapid takes the stress out of running to the supermarket for forgotten items."
The online shopping feature was trialled sometime last year, and it turns out that customers loved it.
Geddes continues: "The feedback from customers was overwhelmingly positive and it has proven particularly popular with customers who tend to have smaller baskets and shop more frequently as they can place their order during the day and collect it on the way home."
