The CoinEx Token, or CET, is the native cryptocurrency of the CoinEx cryptocurrency exchange. Launched in 2017, CoinEx is a global cryptocurrency exchange that has focused on becoming a blockchain-focused ecosystem offering cryptocurrency issuance, and blockchain layer technology. Expanding out from the original trading routes, the exchange developed its own native blockchain known as the CoinEx Smart Chain (CSC). Thanks to the CSC, the company has developed a decentralised exchange and can now offer smart contract deployment to developers.
According to the protocol’s website, the CoinEx Smart Chain is a decentralised platform that provides developers with an efficient and low-cost on-chain environment to run smart contract decentralised applications (dApps) and store digital assets. A key function of the blockchain was the composability with the Ethereum ecosystem, which allows developers to migrate dApps to the CoinEx Smart Chain easily. In addition to interoperability, the network utilises a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, which guarantees efficiency and low transaction fees. The network can generate a new block every second, and offer transactional speeds of 10,000 transactions per second (tps). Alongside powering the CSC blockchain, CET serves many purposes within the CoinEx cryptocurrency ecosystem. The token can be held for discounted trading fees and can be used as gas for exchanges completed within CoinEx’s decentralised exchange (DEX). Alongside being utilised for fees, CET token holders can access specialised promotions, airdrops, VIP services and other exchange privileges.
