Coin98, or C98, is the native cryptocurrency of the Coin Finance protocol. Created by a collection of blockchain enthusiasts, Coin Finance is an ecosystem of blockchain-focused resources. With a particular focus on decentralised finance (DeFi), the platform aims to offer a suite of products through its 3-pillared ecosystem: Coin98 Labs, Coin98 Ventures and Coin98 Network.
According to the project’s blog, Coin98 Labs is focused on building a full-stack interoperable suite of DeFi protocols and decentralised applications (dapps) to run on multiple networks. Coin98 Ventures searches for and invests in early-stage DeFi protocols that exist within the Ethereum, Solana, Polkadot and other Layer 1 ecosystems. Finally, Coin98 Network is composed of media platforms that interact with a global audience on a daily basis. The Network consists of sub-brands that include Coin98 Insights, Analytics, Academy, Developers and Scholarships, which aim to bolster industry connections, community and media exposure. Through the combination of these subsidiaries, the protocol hopes to optimise crypto user experience, improve interoperability and fulfil untapped demand within the cryptocurrency industry. Thanks to the combination of investments and innovation, the Coin98 ecosystem now includes the Coin98 Wallet, the Coin98 Exchange, the Coin98 Hub, the Coin98 Portfolio Tracker, Coin98 Markets, a token issuer and a multi-sender. The C98 token powers all applications within the Coin98 ecosystem. The token is utilised for platform fees, staking and governance, and it is required to access different tiers within the network’s sub-brands. The token currently runs on Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain and Solana.
