Typically held at the University of Western Australia, this quarterly handicrafts market moves to the city’s QV1 foyer in December for a three-day shopping blitz. Donning the name of “Christmas PopUpmarket”, it brings 150 artists, designers and gourmet chefs under one roof during weekday lunch hours, so time-poor workers can check those presents off their lists while on break. Thoughtful, right?

On a balmy summer night in Perth, Northbridge’s local creatives come together in a celebration of art, giftware, food, music and drink at Perth Cultural Centre’s Wetlands Stage. This pre-Christmas tradition has been running since 2011 and is supported by some of Perth’s favourite creators like Correy & Lion, Generics Urban Apothecary and The Wooden Spoon.

Early Bird Christmas Marketchristmas

6. Early Bird Christmas Market

Be one of those smug few who say they’ve got all their Christmas shopping sorted when December comes around by grabbing your wallet and heading to the Early Bird markets at Craigie Leisure Centre in November. Fifty stallholders are set to fill the centre’s basketball court with stocking stuffers and top-notch presents. There is balloon twisting and face painting for the kids, too.

7. Big Family Christmas Market

Missed the Early Bird Christmas Market in Joondalup (see event above)? No sweat. The event curators know that not everyone has the chance to shop in November so it hosts an even bigger and better event in December. This time, you can expect over 90 stallholders to pack the hall with custom-made gifts, soaps and lotions, designer dolls and more. Even if you did make it to the early bird event, there’s no shame in returning to see what else is up for grabs!

Joondalup Twilight Marketschristas

8. Joondalup Twilight Markets

Held over five Friday evenings in the lead-up to Christmas, you’ll have little excuse not to make at least one of the Joondalup Twilight Markets nights. This is the official night market organised by the City of Joondalup so you can expect only the best gourmet foods, handmade jewellery and gifts on show. For kids, there’s roaming entertainment and activities to help get them into the Christmas spirit.

9.Twilight Hawkers Markets

Okay, you caught us. This isn’t exactly a Christmas market. If you’re a local you’ll know that the Twilight Hawkers Markets happen Fridays from October to April – but hey, when you’re craving food market deliciousness after a long day Christmas shopping and don’t want to splash the cash on nosh, this market has your back.
