Tips and tricks to getting cheap Christmas flights to Los Angeles

Besides timely reservations and choosing dates with care, following these tips can help you to cut down costs:

  • Compare fares of different airlines: Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, Fiji Airways and Virgin Australia airlines offer cheap fares to Los Angeles. Keep your options open and keep your eye on their sales.
  • Choose stopover journeys: If you don’t mind travelling longer, one-stop journeys to Los Angeles have lower fares. By adding a stopover, you can save a few hundred dollars per trip. For example, flying on Philippine Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines or China Airlines and stopping in Manila, Honolulu or Taipei respectively can save you as much as 30% compared to flying direct.
  • Fly on specific days: If you can, fly on Monday, as the fares are lower. On the other hand, avoid Saturdays as many travellers prefer to return on weekends to get back to the work the next week.
  • Sign-up for airline newsletters: By subscribing to airline newsletters, you’ll be instantly notified about new offers and last-minute deals.
