For our money, the Oculus Quest 2 is the best standalone VR headset on the market. Featuring no cables and no PC requirements, it's one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to experience virtual reality. You simply don the headset and use the included Touch controllers to transport your gestures, motions and actions into the VR world.

Oculus recently updated the Quest 2 with new silicone covers and double the onboard storage. That brings the total to 128GB. The new unit also comes with all the enhancements over the original Quest, including 50% more pixels per eye (1832x1920) and an improved refresh rate (72Hz vs 90Hz.)

This results in much smoother and more detailed environments. (You can also hook the unit up to a gaming PC via Quest Link, but this is entirely optional - the unit works fine on its own.) In addition to VR gaming, the unit can also be used to virtually experience live concerts, movies and other exclusive events.

If you're looking for a great VR experience without the hassle of cables and extra hardware, the new-and-improved Oculus Quest 2 is a very worthy purchase - and it's currently selling exclusively on Amazon for $479.

We've seen the Oculus Quest 2 headset selling for well over $600 online, so we advise jumping in quickly before the price goes back up. In addition to the 128GB version, a larger-capacity 256GB option is also available to buy from Amazon for a $160 premium. Other than the inbuilt storage, both models are identical.
