Matt Sayer 28 August 2017

With discounts on Minecraft, Uncharted and Gears of War, this week is deal-icious.

Each week, finder searches for the best game deals in Australia. This week, PS4 players can trek off to India, Xbox One owners get to revisit a cheap classic and PC gamers are in for the fright of their lives.

Knock your block off | Ozgameshop

With its second season in full swing, Minecraft Story Mode has shown that the blocky powerhouse that is Minecraft isn't just about cutting down trees and building colossal castles. Telltale's narrative chops lend themselves well to the world of creepers and redstone, and you can catch up on the first season on Xbox One for under $18 this week at Ozgameshop.

Game over, man | Humble Bundle

Licensed games are frequently terrible, or at best mediocre, but Alien: Isolation defiantly bucks that trend. The sci-fi horror game is gloriously tense, with its dark, derelict environments packed with tiny details that show off developer Creative Assembly's reverence for the Alien universe. For less than $10 in a bundle with other spine-shiverers like Layers of Fear and Five Nights at Freddy's, you won't find many better, or spookier, deals this week.

Nate 2.0 | Big W

Forget Nathan Drake; Chloe Frazer is the roguish treasure-hunter Uncharted needs to hang with from here on out. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy proved that Frazer is every bit as compelling as ol' Drake, plus she knows when to call it a day instead of outstaying her welcome. And for just $42 at Big W this week, you can join Frazer as she adventures through India in The Lost Legacy on PS4.

With Crackdown 3 booted back to 2018, Xbox One owners looking for big-name exclusives have a chance to catch up on titles they might have missed from the last year. Gears of War 4, for example, is a cracking continuation of the beefy shooter series, and you can snap up a copy for less than $26 delivered from UK retailer Base this week. Go on, scratch another grub.
