CardStarter is a decentralised project accelerator and swapping platform built for the Cardano blockchain. The project aims to offer an environment for connecting and kickstarting the building blocks for the Cardano ecosystem. The platform can be used by investors who wish to support and fund projects, and likewise by businesses or developers that are looking to receive grants and funds so that application development can continue. The project also wishes to provide incubator-like resources to help development teams that may be struggling for support.
According to the project’s website, Cardstarter implements a tiered system for all initial decentralised exchange (DEX) offerings (IDOs). The tiered system is based on the project's native token, CARD. Those holding CARD are guaranteed access to seed rounds and presales. As many projects end in failure, each project or protocol listed on CardStarter is trusted and vetted by the CardStarter team. In addition, each project listed must donate to the protocol’s treasury, therefore, offering some financial security against project failure.
As previously mentioned, the CARDS token facilitates a subscription model which dictates whether an investor will have guaranteed allocation for a project launch. All CARD tokens must be staked within the protocol for access. The minimum amount of CARD tokens required is 500.
