These are usually much more basic in their amenities, especially free camps that may only have a drop toilet. While it's not strictly illegal to pull over on the side of the road, or in a car park for the night, South Australia does implement certain rules about camping near beaches and in parks. This varies depending on the local council, so it's best to look out for information signs in the car park of your choice or call the council ahead of time to double-check the rules.
