Comprehensive

  • Elegant Cover. This comprehensive policy provides cover for loss or damage to your car in a wide range of situations, including accident, theft, vandalism, hail, storm, flood and fire. It also provides cover for towing and storage costs, car modifications and locks and keys, while new car replacement is provided for 12 months or 20,000km. $20 million legal liability cover is also included.
  • TradieSure. TradieSure Insurance from AI Car Insurance is a comprehensive policy specifically designed to meet the cover needs of tradies. It provides $20 million of legal liability cover and covers accidental damage to your own and other vehicles. Loss or damage caused by fire, theft, storm and a range of other risks are covered, while new car replacement is provided for 12 months or 20,000km.

Third Party Property Damage

  • Economy Cover. This third party property damage car insurance policy from AI provides $20 million of legal liability cover when you are required to  pay compensation for third party property damage resulting from the use of your car. This includes cover for your legal costs.

What excess will I pay?

If you select Elegant Cover Comprehensive Car Insurance from AI, you will need to pay an excess when you make a claim. The excesses that apply to your policy will be shown in the certificate of insurance and may include:

  • Basic excess. This is payable for each claim and the amount is shown on your insurance certificate.
  • Inexperienced driver excess: $1,250. Applies to drivers under the age of 30 or who have not held a licence for more than two years.
  • Unlisted driver excess: $1,000. Applies when your car is driven by someone not listed on the certificate of insurance.
  • Single car accident excess. $300. Applies when your vehicle is involved in a single car accident.
  • Theft/malicious damage excess. $1,000. Applies to claims of attempted theft, theft or malicious damage.
  • Undisclosed policy excess. $1,000. Applies when you have specified your car will be parked overnight in a garage or secure area, but it suffers loss or damage when parked elsewhere.
  • New policy excess. $600. Applies to incidents that occur within six months of new policy inception.
  • Special excess. The insurer may apply special excesses based on the car you drive, your driving history and claims history.

How to Save on Your AI Car Insurance Policy

Keep the following tips in mind to help you save money on your car insurance premiums:

  • Choose a higher basic excess. This will result in lower premiums.
  • Paying annually. A discount applies if you pay your AI Car Insurance premium in one annual lump sum amount.

If you’re involved in an incident that may lead to a claim, you must take all reasonable steps to prevent or reduce loss or damage.
