That's where the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE (short for "Fan Edition") comes in. With a starting price of $999, it's the cheapest Galaxy S20 model by a considerable margin, and you can currently grab it directly from Samsung for as little as $384 when you trade in an old handset.

Pre-order from Samsung
To get the best possible price, head to Samsung Australia's website and follow the pre-order prompts. There are huge discounts of up to $615 available when you trade in a pre-owned phone. (For a limited time, this includes an extra $200 off the normal trade-in value.)

Back up
Back up the data from your eligible old device and remove all locks and passwords.
Download the app
Download the Samsung Trade-Up app on your eligible device and follow the prompts to get your unique Trade ID. You can download the Samsung Trade-Up app on Google Play or Apple's App Store.
Redeem your trade-in amount
Once the app has run a diagnostic on the eligible device you wish to trade in, you will receive a unique Trade ID and your trade-in value. Upon checkout of your new Samsung device, enter the Trade ID at checkout to redeem your trade-in value.
Return old device
Send your old device back in the supplied shipping satchel to complete the trade-in within 14 days.
You have until 31 October 2020 to get the extra $200 off when you trade up to the Galaxy S20 FE online. You can also get 50% off Samsung Care and elect to pay off the phone in monthly instalments, with 36 months interest free.
How to get your free Galaxy Buds Live headphones
If you pre-order the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE before 9 October, Samsung will throw in a free pair of Galaxy Buds Live. These are wireless headphones and are Samsung's answer to Apple's Air Pods. They normally retail for $319.
