MyNetFone was founded in 2004 and is part of the MNF communications group. It used to offer ADSL plans along with its current range of NBN broadband plans.

Compared to residential plans, MyNetFone's plans are $10 more expensive per month for each speed tier compared to the Finder average for unlimited data. All of its plans also have significantly below-average speeds (e.g. NBN50 typical speed of 45.00Mbps vs. ACCC average of 42.6Mbps). On top of that, you'll get slugged with high set-up fees unless you go for a long contract, which have huge early termination fees equal to the total remaining value of your plan.

MyNetFone extra features

  • Australian customer support. MyNetFone's customer support team operates out of Sydney and Melbourne.
  • Emergency support. If you need support for your business connection outside standard support hours, it's available. However, you'll be charged additional fees for this service.

Is MyNetFone right for you?

  • Australian customer support. MyNetFone's team is based in Sydney and Melbourne.

  • No online sign up. The deceptively cheap home phone bundles will actually cost quite a bit if you want to make calls to mobiles or nationally.
  • Low speeds. MyNetFone's typical evening speeds are extremely low compared to industry averages.
  • Large extra fees. MyNetFone has huge set-up fees on shorter contracts, and the early termination fees on its longer contracts are equal to the remaining value of your contract.

Summary: MyNetFone's business plans encourage long contracts but don't offer very much in terms of typical speeds for its customers.

MyNetFone FAQs

Do I need a new modem to sign up to MyNetFone?

If your business has not been connected to the NBN before, you'll likely require a new modem to get your broadband functioning. You can either provide your own or buy one from MyNetFone when you purchase your plan.

Can I cancel my MyNetFone NBN plan?

On a month-to-month plan, you can cancel at any time with no problem. On a contract, you'll have to pay a hefty early termination fee equal to the remaining value of your Internet plan (monthly plan fee times the number of months remaining in the contract).

Do MyNetFone's Internet plans include calls?

You can add on basic PAYG calls to your business line as part of your NBN plan. MyNetFone also sells an NBN VoIP service, but this will cost you extra and is counted as a separate service despite requiring an NBN connection.
