How much does amaysim cost?

amaysim offers a range of mobile broadband plans with varying levels of included data. Prices start at $10 a month for 1GB of data, with a 2GB option and a 6GB option also on offer.

All of amaysim's data only plans expire after 28 days, and there's no long-expiry options on offer in the data-only space.

What additional services are included?

What voice options are provided?

Being a data only plan, there's no voice call component, though there is a selection of data-rich amaysim phone plans available as well.

What happens if I exceed my monthly download limit?

amaysim used to charge excess data at 7.2c/MB, but a recent update to the company's pricing structure means that you can now get an additional 1GB of data for $10. amaysim will notify you when you have used 50%, 85%, and 100% of your data allowance, but keep in mind that it can take up to 48 hours for the notification messages to be sent out.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • No-contract option. amaysim lives and breathes by the no lock-in contract mantra, so it's easy to sign up or switch.
  • Regular usage updates. amaysim will update you on your data consumption when you've used 50%, 85% and 100% of your data.

Cons

  • Excess data charges. Rather than buy an excess data pack, you pay per MB.
  • Variable speeds . Being a mobile broadband plan, speeds will depend on your device, your location and network congestion.

      Hi Natasha,

You’ve come through to finder.com.au, not amaysim. Amaysim is a mobile broadband provider that operates on the Optus 4G network. So long as you have access to Optus 4G, you will be eligible for amaysim’s plans.

      Thanks,
      Brodie
