If you're looking for internet on the go, consider amaysim mobile broadband's data rates.
What services does amaysim offer?
amaysim is an Australian telco provider that runs on the Optus 3G/4G mobile broadband network, covering more than 98% of the population. Customers can expect the same coverage and download speeds offered by Optus, with independent pricing and plan structures, and customer service available 16-hours a day. As as internet provider, amaysim offers mobile broadband that can be used with any internet enabled device. You can bring your own or buy an unlocked device from amaysim.
How much does amaysim cost?
amaysim offers a range of mobile broadband plans with varying levels of included data. Prices start at $9.90 a month for 1GB of data, with a 2.5GB option and a 4GB option also on offer. There's a 10GB plan as well with a 365 day expiry term, which costs $99.90.
Also worth noting is that with the exception of the 10GB plan the amaysim plans auto renew after 30 days, rather than 28 days.
What additional services are included?
What voice options are provided?
Being a data only plan, there's no voice call component, though there is a selection of data-rich amaysim phone plans available as well.
What happens if I exceed my monthly download limit?
amaysim charges excess data at 7.2c/MB. That could become costly in the long run, but fortunately the company also allows users to renew their data packs, or upgrade to a larger plan should the month's allotted data not be sufficient. However, you can only do that once you've already used 85% of your month's allowance, which doesn't give a large window of data consumption to upgrade. amaysim will notify you when you have used 50%, 85%, and 100% of your data allowance, but keep in mind that it can take up to 48 hours for the notification messages to be sent out.
