Best cheap accommodation in Brisbane

On average, hotels in Brisbane will cost you around $120 a night, but after searching the web, we've found the best hotels that won't break the bank. The Nomads Brisbane Hostel is the cheapest hotel that is also smack-bang in the middle of the action of Brisbane's CBD. Within 10 minutes, you'll be at the Roma Street Parklands or St. John's Cathedral and only four minutes from King George Square.

The Base Brisbane Uptown and the George Williams Hotel are also centrally situated in the CBD. Located just off Roma Street, the famous Parklands as well as Southbank are within walking distance. If you're after a great spot in Southbank that will save a couple dollars, a room at the Brisbane Backpackers can be scored for under $50 a night and it features a pool, jacuzzi and exciting nightlife. The Big Bird Backpackers hostel is located the furthest north, but it's the closest to Suncorp Stadium and Queen Street Shopping Centre is just a 15-minute walk away.

Best hotels in Southbank

If you're staying in Southbank, then you're going to want a great view of the Brisbane River. The Swiss Belhotel Brisbane, the Mantra South Bank, the River Plaza Apartments and the Emporium Hotel Southbank all tick that box. From infinity pools to private balconies as well as views of the river, it doesn't get much better than these.

The Riverside Hotel Southbank is also in a great spot in Southbank, but it doesn't offer direct views of the river. However, it does have an array of pools that more than make up for it.

One of the best things about Southbank is that everything there is to see in the area is within walking distance of the hotels. On your doorstep you'll have The Arbour (great walking trail to take in the views), the Wheel of Brisbane, the Epicurious Garden, Musgrave Park, Victoria Bridge Abutment, the South Bank Parklands and the historical Allgas Building.

Crossing the Victoria Bridge will have you directly in the Brisbane CBD where you'll find the Botanical Gardens and the Roma Street Parkland. If you want an apartment closest to the bridge, then the Ivy and Eve Hotel is a five minute walk away. You also have the Queensland Art Gallery, the Museum and the Brisbane sign all on either sides of the Victoria Bridge.

Best pet-friendly accommodation in Brisbane

The great news about Brisbane Street Studios is that it is in close proximity to the Secret Dog Park that sits next to the Brisbane River. So you'll be able to sit back and relax as the off-leash area allows for complete freedom for your furry friends. The park is a mere 15-minute walk from the studios. W Brisbane and Ovolo Inchcolm are both within 15 minutes of the Roma Street Parklands, which also happen to have the Spectacle Garden at Colin Campbell Place.

10 minutes away from the W Brisbane you have the Old Windmill Observatory, which is located in Wickham Park. The Botanical Gardens are also 15 minutes down the road, so not only will you get a walk in but you'll see one of Brisbane's main attractions.

However, these aren't the only pet-friendly hotels available. The View Brisbane and Spicers Balfour Hotel both provide views of the city's river and are only a few moments away from the closest reserve.

Best 5-star hotels in Brisbane

As expected, the industry's biggest names including Sofitel and the Hilton can be found within walking distance of the city's attractions. You'll be right in the middle of the city at the Sofitel Brisbane Central, and Central Station is directly under the building. The convenience doesn't stop there, with all the major attractions within walking distance. You have Post Office Square, King Edward Park, Brisbane City Hall Clock Tower and Burnett Lane all within a few minutes' walk from the hotel.

The Hilton Brisbane is equally as central, with the Botanical Gardens a short 9-minute walk down the road. If you're after pristine city views, then the Gardens' views of Brisbane River is the perfect way to start or end the day.

For an impeccable lookout of the city river, the Meriton Suites Herschel Street are a no-brainer. The hotel won the 2020 Quality Service Award from Reader's Digest, as well as the 2019 Certificate of Excellence from Tripadvisor.

The Meriton Suites Adelaide Street are another of the Meriton stays that win in luxury. As one of the tallest buildings in the city, you're likely to have an unmatched view of Story Bridge. The Stamford Plaza Brisbane is another great option for idyllic city views.
