Boxing Day travel deals shopping tips
- Stay a little bit longer. Many hotel sales offer greater savings the longer you stay. While a single- or two night stay may offer savings of around 25%, adding on a third night may increase that discount to 35%.
- Be flexible. It often seems that the bigger the discount, the more restrictions there will be. The most heavily discounted days will likely be dates that the hotels have the greatest need for rooms to be filled, and will probably be dates you weren’t planning to travel. But, if you’re okay with changing around your preferred dates, you’ll be able to get a better deal.
- Check your rewards’ terms. If you’re planning on booking a stay that will get you points you can use toward future travel, check the terms and conditions of the sale. Often, big sales will be excluded from rewards programs, or may offer you fewer points for your stay, which may not benefit you in the long run.
