boohoo's latest collection is taking plastic out of landfill and turning it into pieces you'll want in your closet asap.

Just this week boohoo launched its new collection – For the Future. But this one is quite a new step for the fast-fashion brand. While the pieces in the collection look like the same flirty, fun and affordable fashion we're used to seeing from boohoo, they're made in a brand new way.

Available right now, the material used for this new range is made using recycled polyester. According to boohoo, the fabric is created from plastic that has been directed away from landfill and repurposed to produce new yarn. In fact, the products are actually 95% recycled polyester with 5% added elastin because let's be real, clothes need a bit of stretch. Even the swing tags are sustainably made, created from 100% recycled paper.

One of the biggest criticisms of the fast-fashion industry is the contribution to landfill. When clothes are made cheaply and disposable, consumers throw them away quickly. And since many of these clothes are made from plastic, this is a major contributor to our global pollution problem. But not this collection. boohoo is actively taking plastic out of landfill. And we think that deserves a round of applause.

The best part is that you would never know that these pieces are made from recycled plastic. The collection is filled with summery, printed co-ord sets, bright bodycon dresses, wrap-tops, palazzo pants and bodysuits – all our favourite boohoo styles. So you can dress well and do your bit for the planet.

Featuring 34 fashion pieces, the summer range includes the palm prints, bold colour palette and the classic monochrome wardrobe essentials. And all have been made using environmentally friendly and non-toxic fabric dyes and ink, free of harmful chemicals. Before you ask, no, they're still in the same affordable boohoo price range around $15 - $40.

Since we shoppers love sustainable products, this is not just a one-off. boohoo will be continually adding new collections and plans to offer a wider range of sustainable fashion options.

boohoo Group Founder Carol Kane said: "We are consistently listening to our customers and have been working on developing a recycled offering for some time. boohoo acknowledges its responsibility to be a sustainable business and 'For the Future' fashion range is the next step in that journey."

This is a fast-fashion collection that you can feel good about buying and proves that being considered and eco-friendly doesn't have to be expensive. Now, excuse us while we go and buy the entire range. Head to boohoo here to shop the new, recycled For the Future collection. Or scroll down to see some of our favourite pieces.
