Review: BodyBlendz x Nicole Williams-English Glacial Dip Set
Did the $90 Body Glow Exfoliating Hydrator and Body Elixir transform me into a velvet-soft unicorn as hoped? Let's find out.
I am definitely partial to a good body scrub. There's nothing worse than irritated and dry skin, so you best believe that exfoliating nights have a sacred place in my self-care routine. So when I heard that the Australian skincare legends at BodyBlendz teamed up with Canadian influencer, TV personality and all-around bombshell Nicole Williams-English to create the Glacial Dip Set, I was very excited.
The set includes the Body Glow Exfoliating Hydrator and the Body Elixir. These two products are designed to be super hydrating, leaving your body feeling smooth and moisturised. After giving them a go, here are my two cents.
A little about the products
Before we jump into the review, here's a little more info about the products. The Body Glow Exfoliating Hydrator is a scrub that you can use to exfoliate your body from head to toe. The scrub contains Australian white clay, Bentonite clay and fine bamboo particles to help you get that smooth skin feelin'. It's also infused with sunflower, grapeseed, coconut, chia seed and bursitis to help give your skin a nice lil dose of vitamins, minerals, fatty acids and antioxidants. The Body Elixir is a dry oil that's super moisturising. Once you've exfoliated, lather yourself up with this bad boy for a smooth and dewy finish.
Body Glow Exfoliating Hydrator
Before using this product, as per the instructions, I had a quick rinse in the shower so that my skin was clean and a little dewy before I scrubba-dubbed-dubbed.
You can apply the bright aqua blue scrub all over, so I started with my chest and shoulders and worked my way down to my feet. A little bit goes a long way with this scrub but I was especially generous on my legs and arms, as they tend to get a little dry if I've been using a fake tan. I let the mask soak in for around 5 minutes but you can leave it on for up to 10 if you've got the time. Once it was dry, I rinsed it off with some warm water. It came off relatively quickly and didn't leave my shower looking like a smurf had exploded, which was a nice plus.
As I washed it off, my skin immediately felt super velvety and soft. I didn't use an exfoliating mitt or scrub particularly hard, so it didn't completely strip my tan off – you may need to put in some elbow grease if you really want to get in there. However, my skin did continue to feel soft n' supple for the next few days afterwards.
The scrub apparently uses Green Coffee Seed, which is meant to help reduce blemishes, stretch marks and cellulite. I'm writing this review after only one use, so I'm not surprised that I didn't see any major difference in that regard, if I'm honest.
Once I towelled off, it was time to apply the Body Elixir serum. This helps soothe the skin and lock in moisture after exfoliation. In my experience, these serums usually leave me feeling sticky and a bit uncomfy until they fully soak in. Much to my delight, the BodyBlendz Body Elixir felt super light and soaked in quickly, leaving my skin feeling hydrated but not oily. While I usually have to sit in my towel for what feels like an eternity after I apply a serum, it dried super quickly and I could chuck on my jammies almost straight away without any hassle.
Plus, it smells like HEAVEN. It's a really fresh cocktail of citrus and floral scents, including orange, lime geranium, Ylang Ylang and Rose Otto.
How much does it cost?
You can pick up the Glacial Dip Set for $89.99. You can also buy the Body Glow Exfoliating Hydrator ($46.99) and Body Elixir ($49.99) separately. And because we love a bargain here at Finder Style, you can also save 10% at the checkout by using the discount code "NICOLE10".
The final verdict
I used the BodyBlendz Glacial Dip Set with the goal of feeling as though I had been submerged in a glacial pool only to emerge as smooth as a seal-unicorn hybrid. And I have to say, I got pretty damn close. While I did notice that my skin looked and felt more hydrated, perhaps I could've achieved even better results if I left the mask on longer or scrubbed more vigorously. I did only use it once though, so fingers crossed that the results only get better if I pepper these products into my regular routine.
It's also a little on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for. Plus, a little of this product goes a long way, so hopefully it will last quite a while, even if you do splash the cash for it.
Where can you buy it?
You can buy the Glacial Dip Set or individual scrub and serum online from the BodyBlendz website.
