Beauty product of the week: Bobbi Brown Mini Shimmer Brick

Posted: 26 October 2018 10:38 am

Bobbi Brown's top selling shimmer brick has had an update this holiday season.

Why we love this product

Every year, Bobbi Brown creates an indulgent, dazzling holiday collection for those looking for beauty treats and stocking stuffers. This year's holiday collection was inspired by the twinkling lights of New York City and features a bunch of sparkly, pretty pieces that are almost too good to wrap up.

One of the pieces in the collection is an updated version of the famous shimmer brick in bronze. What's different about it? Well, it's mini! It still comes in a mirrored compact, and it still comes with all five shimmery shades – it's just smaller. And I love it.

I am not an every day makeup wearer. I walk into the office bare faced and only apply makeup if the situation calls for it. And since I am not a fan of big bulk handbags, my makeup essentials need to fit comfortably in my little shoulder bag. This often means that I have to leave out bronzers and highlighters. The bulky compacts take up way too much space. But this little treat has been living in my handbag without an issue for the last two weeks.

Bobbi Brown's shimmer bricks are a delight to use. This powder product adds a glowing halo to your skin without the glitter. It's perfect if you want a little highlight to your skin without the drama. The tones in the bronze compact are rich and gorgeous and when mixed together, they create the prettiest bronze glow on the cheekbones. The beauty of this compact is that the different colours allow you to customise your look. Sometimes I'll just use the darker tones when I want to look fresh from a sunny holiday.

The Mini Shimmer Brick is AUD$45. It's pricey, but Bobbi Brown products are luxury cosmetics. If they were cheaper, owning them wouldn't feel like such a lovely indulgence. Plus the quality of this brand speaks for itself.

So when and where can you buy it?

The full holiday collection is available at from 21 October. But some Bobbi Brown products are also stocked at David Jones, Myer and eBay.
