When sourcing top titles at a steal, Black Friday is the most wonderful time of the year. From popular RPG like FIFA 22 and first-person survival games such as Resident Evil Village to action-adventure giants including Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, Cyberpunk 2077, Metroid Dread and beyond, we're expecting to see massive discounts on a pile of must-have games this Black Friday. Bookmark your favourites and check back when Black Friday lands.
And while Amazon is already offering some generous discounts on a diverse selection of titles, holding off on buying until 26 November arrives could see your budget stretch even further. In 2020, we saw many awesome Black Friday video game discounts and the majority of those didn't arrive until the official sale day.
As the saying goes, good things come to those who wait. So, we're hoping to see prices fall to an all-time low this Black Friday.
While it's not the newest console on the block, the Nintendo Switch is still very much one of the most popular gaming consoles on the market. It's great for little kids, big kids and adults alike, making it the perfect option for any household.
The standard Nintendo Switch console RRP is $469.95. The Lite model retails for $329.95 and the latest OLED version comes with a standard price tag of $539.95. It's not a small chunk of change whichever model you're after.
Black Friday has consistently been the best time to secure a steal on this console, with Amazon offering an excellent deal last year. Priced at just $369, the Black Friday 2020 bundle included the original console, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and a 3-month Nintendo Switch online subscription. Anyone who managed to snag this deal saved a massive $160 off the RRP.
We haven't seen any similar bundle deals in 2021 so far. This leads us to believe that Black Friday will bring some awesome Nintendo Switch discounts in time for Christmas. Also, keep your eyes peeled for any discounts on the aforementioned OLED console. The upgraded console was only released on 8 October 2021, but we're still holding out hope that we could see a generous percentage off the RRP when Black Friday finally arrives.
PlayStation Plus is an exclusive networking subscription enabling gamers to connect with other players from around the world to compete in multiplayer games. Members can also download 24 hand-picked games every year at no additional cost. There are even exclusive offers on PlayStation Store games and in-game add-ons for PSN subscribers.
Last year, Sony discounted a 12-month subscription to PSN by 25%. That's a saving of around $20 on the usual price tag of $79.95. We've seen similar discounts offered in previous years too. One thing's for sure, Sony is going to want to pull a great deal out of the bag in the 2021 Black Friday event to avoid losing the thousands of subscribers that signed up during the sale last year.
While it's too early to tell how much will be slashed off subscription prices this Black Friday, we're hoping the cost of signing up to the PSN will be lower than we've seen all year.
Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales are usually the ideal time to replace or upgrade your gaming hardware and accessories without breaking the bank. We're hoping that 2021 is no different, especially after our current gear has been put through its paces this year more than it normally would.
So what kind of savings could we possibly see? That all depends on what you're on the lookout for. Some of the best deals we saw last year were at Amazon, with a massive 60% off selected controllers and gaming accessories.
Last year we saw a medley of unmissable deals, including $76.95 off the PlayStation DualShock 4 controller bundled with FIFA 21. Marked down to $68, you had to be quick to snap up this incredible offer. We're expecting something equally great to land this time around.
We're already seeing huge discounts of 35% off the Logitech G703 Hero lightspeed wireless gaming mouse. We full expect prices to plummet even further when Black Friday arrives.
While the jury is still deliberating exactly how much this essential bit of kit is likely to be discounted, we are predicting to substantial savings on the table (or under the desk) this Black Friday.
No gaming set-up is complete without ultimate, statement seating. It has to be comfy, it has to be eye-catching and it has to offer an easy and complete range of movement to avoid being a hindrance. If you're hoping to get your hands on a gaming chair without blowing your budget sky-high, Black Friday is the best opportunity of the year.
Online shopping giants Amazon and eBay typically have the best deals on gaming furniture during Black Friday – the latter is already offering up to 65% off select models (see link above). Be sure to keep an eye on both marketplaces throughout the Black Friday madness.

About Black Friday
Black Friday was originally considered a 24-hour event. This year, it will officially be on 26 November. However, this mega-sales event is closely followed by Cyber Monday, which falls on 29 November. The majority of retailers have extended their event to span the whole 4 days.
You can and should anticipate seeing thousands of early deals in the lead-up to Black Friday. Plenty of retailers have even added a Black Friday hub to their online store already.
