5 Black Friday points offers to know about before shopping Cyber Weekend
Points hackers, get your frequent flyer cards ready.
If you're after bonus points, cheap flights or discounted gift cards, these offers can get you all that and more.
While we were disappointed not to see Qantas drop a flight sale this Cyber weekend, at up to 60% off, its Rewards Store offerings are strong. And the chance to double up on discounted gift cards and buying items in the Black Friday sales sure is enticing.
While you won't be taking off for cheap on the flying kangaroo, Virgin Australia, Etihad and Qatar have all dropped flight sales for Black Friday which can help you save on fares, reach the next status level sooner and get more points for your buck.
Virgin Australia: Earn double Status Credits and up to 20% extra points
On top of Virgin's Black Friday sale that has domestic flights discounted by up to 35%, Velocity members can earn double the Status Credits on flights booked during this sale. Prices start at just $49 each way for routes like Sydney to Byron Bay or Launceston, and Adelaide or Melbourne to Hobart.
While the Black Friday flight sale ends on 29 November, some of Virgin's other points-based offers are going on for longer. You can get a 20% bonus when transferring from select partners before 30 November and earn an extra 20% bonus points when you buy them before 17 December. The Status Credits offer runs through March 2022.

Qantas: Up to 60% off shopping and earn up to 13 Qantas Points per $1 spent
While flights unfortunately aren't discounted for Black Friday, if you're planning on doing some shopping and earning points while you're at it, don't look past the Qantas Rewards Store. You can save up to 40% off thousands of items from brands like Apple, Bose and Dyson. You can also get 10% off gift cards from stores such as JB Hi-Fi, David Jones and Woolworths. These could help you save even further on existing Black Friday offers if the stores accept gift cards as payment.
If you're after a new bottle of red, white or rose, you can save up to 60% on Qantas wine.

Accor: 30% off city stays plus double the rewards points
Australia and New Zealand hotels are discounted by 30% if you book a stay before 1 December 2021.
If you already are an ALL (Accor Lifestyle Loyalty) member, or become one, not only will you earn double the rewards points for your stay, you'll also be able to save an additional 10%.

Qatar: Earn an extra 2,500 Qmiles on already-discounted flights to Europe
If you're heading over to Europe and are looking for a way to maximise your points earn, Qatar is offering a bonus for new Qmiles members. You can get 2,500 bonus points for becoming one. This is on top of low fares starting at $1,319 return in economy or $6,089 in business.
You can also save up to 50% on extra baggage and seat selection fees.

Etihad: Flights from $1,249 plus extra points when you transfer
While not offering bonus points like Qatar, you can still collect your Etihad Guest miles as normal and save money on the airfares, which start at $1,249 compared to Qatar's $1,319.
On top of that, if you're keen to transfer some miles, you'll receive 1 bonus Tier Mile for every equivalent mile transferred to Etihad Guest from AMEX Membership Rewards or HSBC UK.

While there are plenty of deals to be had over the Cyber Weekend, we can't say they're all "best"-worthy Here are some more strong deals that we feel are honourable mentions:
- Air New Zealand: 10% off flights to the US and Canada.
- Hilton: 5,000 Bonus Points on your next 2 stays for new Hilton Honours members.
- IHG: Earn up to 5,000 bonus points when you book your stay with points. If you're not already a member, if you sign up and book 2 stays, you'll get a free extra night.
- Marriott: Get 1,500 points per stay or plus 3,000 points at all-inclusive Marriott Bonvoy resorts.
