Black Friday isn't just for shopping. Here's how to use the sales to get your bills down.

Black Friday may be an opportunity to save on your favourite tech and fashion brands but there's no reason why you can't save on everyday bills as well.

Here are 5 really quick and easy ways you can save on insurance, Internet and mobile plans. Take advantage now and reap the rewards all year round.

1. Home insurance

Buy a new Budget Direct combined Home and Contents insurance policy by 26 November 11:59pm AEDT and you can get a $150 egift card once you pass your 21-day cooling-off period. This policy also includes 30% off your first year's premium when you buy online. Out of the 8 providers we looked at, only Virgin offered a discount as large as this.

2. Car insurance

If you buy a new Budget Direct Comprehensive car insurance policy by 26 November 11:59pm AEDT, you can get a $150 egift card once you pass your 21-day cooling-off period. This includes 15% off your first year's premium when you buy online.

3. Home Internet

Vodafone is dropping the price of its 4G and 5G home Internet plans by 50% for Black Friday. Its 4G home Internet plan normally costs $60 a month but you can get it for $30 for 12 months if you sign up this week. Existing Vodafone mobile customers can get an additional $5 a month off.

4. Mobile plans

Both amaysim and Kogan are offering long-expiry mobile plans – great for anyone on a tight budget. amaysim's offers are only available until 29 November and include the following:

  • 60GB for $60 on its 1-year plan. Ongoing is $120 a year
  • 165GB for $100 on its 1-year plan. Ongoing is $200 a year
  • 150GB for $75 on its 6-month plan. Ongoing is $150 a year

  • Kogan's Large long-expiry plan 300GB: $270 or $22.50 per 30 days
