Black Friday is one of the biggest shopping events of the year, making it prime time to shop everything currently on your wishlist.

One of the most heavily discounted categories over the sales period is tech devices, which is great news for those after a new laptop, TV, smart speaker or pair of headphones. With a huge number of retailers set to offer deals though, trying to decide just where to shop can be quite overwhelming.

To help you get a better idea of where the best offers will be, we've dug up some of the best discounts we saw on tech last year that we're expecting to see again this year.

Best tech deals from Black Friday 2019

  • Amazon: Not only is Amazon home to millions of tech products, but it also offers a huge range of deals on them over Black Friday. Some notable discounts the retailer ran last year include $120 off Nintendo Switch, $50 off the Kindle Paperwhite, $20 off Fire TV Stick and large discounts on Echo devices, making it one to watch again this year.
  • eBay: In addition to hosting tons of tech deals for regular shoppers, eBay also offers even bigger discounts for its eBay Plus members. Last year it dropped the price of Apple AirPods down to just $99 for Plus members, and we're expecting a similar offer on them again this Black Friday.
  • Catch: While Catch is already well known for its daily deals, it really ramps things up over the Cyber Weekend. Expect to see discounts on a massive range of shopping categories, as well as top offers on popular products such as Dyson vacuums, Apple iPads and highly sought-after kids toys.
  • Target: Whether you're looking to upgrade your home appliances or invest in a new gaming console, Target is likely to have a sale on the product you're after this Black Friday. Last year the retailer had offers including $200 off the Dyson V6 vacuum and $150 off the Xbox One S Console, so be sure to keep an eye out closer to the day.
  • The Good Guys: The 2019 Black Friday sales saw The Good Guys offer a slew of great deals including 20% off Lenovo and Acer computers, 15% off Microsoft Surface, 10% off Apple Mac and 25% off Philips Hue Smart Lighting. If it's laptops or popular tech products that you're after, we recommend checking it out this year.
  • Appliances Online: Those after big ticket items will want to see what's on offer at Appliances Online this Black Friday. Last year the site ran deals such as 46% off select Bosch washing machines and 40% off the Samsung 55-inch Smart QLED TV, making it a bargain hot spot.
  • David Jones: The 2019 sales saw David Jones drop prices on selected electrical products by a whopping 50%, and we're hoping to see something similar again this year. We're also expecting deals on Dyson vacuums, coffee machines and various headphones and speakers.
  • Myer: Department store Myer loves a good sale, making it one of the most likely stores to hold a Black Friday sale. Offers from last year included 30% off watches by Fossil, Skagen, Armani Exchange and DKNY, 25% off the original price of KitchenAid appliances and 15% off the Dyson Supersonic.
  • Bing Lee: Bing Lee is another place that we're expecting to see a wide range of tech and appliance deals. Having taken a massive $300 off the Dyson V8 Animal vacuum last year, it will also be a great spot to check out if you're looking to pick up a new vacuum cleaner.
  • JB Hi-Fi: As one of the most competitively priced retailers around, JB Hi-Fi is a top contender when it comes to tech deals. Last year the retailer slashed $180 off the Playstation PS4 500GB console and took 25% off all Hisense TVs. We can also expect to see huge deals on headphones, laptops, cameras and more.

Other retailers such as Kogan, Dell, Microsoft Store and Big W also had major deals on tech products over the 2019 Cyber Weekend, making them worth watching out for this year.

Black Friday is a 24-hour event, which will be held this year on 27 November. The mega sales event is closely followed by Cyber Monday, which falls on 30 November and sees even more bargains offered by online stores.
