What kind of deals can you expect to see this Black Friday?

Black Friday's 2020 shopping event doesn't officially kick off until 27 November. However, it's possible to get a good sense of the deals that will be available by looking at last year's sale. Here are 6 Black Friday bargains you can expect to make an appearance.


Note: While none of the deals below are confirmed, they have appeared at multiple Black Friday sales and are among the most popular offers available. You can therefore expect to see something very similar during this year's sale.

1. Up to $300 off Dyson products

Dyson can usually be relied upon to serve up big discounts on vacuum cleaners, air purifiers and cooling fans during Black Friday. Last year, it offered over $300 off select models. In addition to the Dyson website, you should also be able to snag a bargain on sites like eBay, Catch, David Jones, Myer, The Good Guys, Bing Lee and more. Once again, you can expect to see popular vacuum models such as the V7, V8 and V10 slashed by two hundred dollars or more.

2. Up to 60% off video games

Amazon's gaming hub already has some of the best deals on discounted video games. (For example, it's currently offering up to 26% off PlayStation 5 games.) You can expect even bigger bargains during the Black Friday sales window, particularly on Xbox One, PS5 and Switch games. Last year saw some titles slashed by more than 60% off the RRP. JB Hi-Fi, Microsoft and can also be relied upon to serve up some great gaming deals. If you want some new video games for your existing system, Black Friday is the time to shop.

3. 50%-80% off fashion

Clothing, footwear, watches and fashion accessories are traditionally where the biggest Black Friday savings are to be found. Sites like ASOS, White Fox fashion, THE ICONIC, Charles Tyrwhitt, New Balance, Beginning Boutique, Nasty Gal, General Pants, Amazon, David Jones, GHD Hair and Amazon should be offering big discounts site wide with up to 80% off select clearance items.

4. Everything on Amazon

The dust has only just settled on Amazon Prime Day. Nevertheless, you can rest assured that the company will be back with more deals during Black Friday. If you're looking for a one-stop shop for all your shopping needs, Amazon is the obvious choice with hundreds of thousands of Black Friday deals available across all product categories. Highlights from last year's sale include up to 25% off laptops from Lenovo, ASUS and Acer, 60% off Lorna Jane activewear, half-price Nike shoes and 40% off Razor Electric Scooters. Amazon-branded devices such as Echo smart speakers and Kindle eBooks will also be discounted. If prior Black Fridays are anything to go by, you can expect up to 50% off select models.

5. Up to $120 off Nintendo Switch

For the past few years, the Nintendo Switch has been one of the hottest selling items during Black Friday due to some tasty discounts. Last year's sale saw the console selling for $120 off the RRP. You can also expect to see some interesting bundles from sites like Catch, EB Games, Amazon and JB Hi-Fi.

If you want to save money on food this week or maybe some alcohol Christmas, Black Friday is an excellent time to shop. Sites like Amazon, Hello Fresh, DoorDash, eBay and Uber Eats will be offering discount codes and special offers throughout the Black Friday weekend.

Black Friday is a "24-hour" shopping event that typically lasts all weekend and into the next week. (It then morphs into "Cyber Monday" which tends to last another 48 hours.) This means you have nearly a week to bag yourself a bargain. This year's Black Friday event begins on 27 November, but a bunch of deals are expected to land early.
