Brand name merchandise at up to 50% off – we've ranked all the savings.

Discount supermarket chain ALDI is getting in early for Black Friday this year.

ALDI's "Black Wednesday" sale kicks off on Wednesday 27 November, two days before Black Friday itself. Since ALDI traditionally offers its "Special Buys" on Wednesdays and Saturdays, presumably store brass figured it was too risky to wait until Saturday, when everyone might have spent all their cash in the main Black Friday sales.

What's also notable about "Black Wednesday" is that ALDI is offering discount prices on name-brand goods, rather than the in-store brands that normally feature during its sales. While many of ALDI's in-store brands are well-regarded, not everything represents a good deal. So it's pleasing to see some recognisable brands on the list.

Below we've listed all the brand-name goods in the ALDI sale, as well as the typical price you'll pay for them elsewhere and the percentage saving the ALDI price represents. As you can see, there are some big savings to be had: up to 50% in the best cases.

ALDI doesn't offer online shopping in Australia, so if any of these tempt you you'll want to be lined up at your local store at 8am on Wednesday, when the sale kicks off.

That said, there are plenty of discounts from online stores like Amazon and eBay to consider. The easiest way to stay across all the deals is to get Finder's Black Friday newsletter.
