Binance adds anonymous digital wallet that supports Ethereum
Trust Wallet is a secure mobile wallet that supports Ethereum and ERC20, ERC223 and ERC721 tokens.
The world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, has revealed its first public acquisition to be a secure, anonymous, open-source wallet application that can store over 20,000 different Ethereum-based tokens.
Trust Wallet, launched in November last year, is an "intuitive", decentralized mobile wallet has a reputation for exceptional security; never accessing user wallets, holding private keys or requesting personal information.
The wallet is an on-chain mobile wallet, meaning user private keys are decentralized (stored on user devices). The wallet will be added to the growing list of Binance's ancillary services for customers.
The wallet provides a fully secure audited system to send, receive and store digital assets. Trust Wallet gives users full control over their private keys and provides access to a Web3 browser that allows users to interact with decentralized applications (DApps) simply and directly from within their mobile wallet.
The Trust Wallet team will continue to work autonomously, developing and improving the digital wallet with assistance from the Binance team. The teams will also research the potential for other future integrations.
"Wallets are the most fundamental interface to the crypto economy and a secure and easy-to-use wallet is key to proliferate the adoption of cryptocurrencies," Binance chief executive Changpeng Zhao said.
Earlier this month, Opera web browser dived into the world of cryptocurrency, announcing it was testing its own built-in Ethereum digital wallet, slated to be released in the next version of its mobile web browser.
HTC is gearing up for the release of the first ever crypto smartphone. The device was slated to be compatible with bitcoin and Ethereum, and now Litecoin creator Charlie Lee has revealed that the Exodus smartphone will also support Litecoin and off-blockchain payments protocol, the Lightning Network. The phone will also support a native cryptocurrency wallet, described as the most secure hardware wallet around.
