Domestic Plan

Designed for trips within Australia, this single trip policy provides 9 benefits to travellers. It is not a medical plan, but it includes:

  • Unlimited cover for cancellation fees and lost deposits
  • $10,00 of cover for luggage and personal effects
  • Personal liability cover
  • Rental vehicle excess cover
  • Travel delay expenses
  • Accidental death

This policy is available for age of all travellers

Essentials Plan

As the name implies, this policy is designed for those who don’t want to spend too much on insurance but would still like to have cover in place against some essential risks. Offering significantly lower premiums than comprehensive cover, this is an international rescue and medical policy for overseas travel. Cover includes:

  • Unlimited overseas emergency medical assistance
  • Unlimited overseas emergency medical and hospital expenses
  • $2.5 million of personal liability cover
  • $1,000 of cover for emergency dental expenses.

This policy is not available to travellers aged 74 years or older.

Multi-Trip Plan

If you tend to travel a lot, taking out a separate travel insurance policy for each single trip can quickly become quite expensive. But the Multi-Trip plan is designed with you in mind. It allows you to save money by offering annual cover for all the trips you take over a 12-month period. It offers all the benefits of Comprehensive Insurance including cover for medical emergencies, cancellation, luggage and medical repatriation but it offers great value for money. However, you can choose from one of these maximum journey periods: 15 days, 30 days or 45 days. This policy is not available to travellers aged 74 years or older.

How to get cover from Big Sky Travel Insurance?

Here’s how to start the application process:

  • Compare policy options. Make sure the policy you decide on covers all of your needs.
  • Get a quote. Compare the premiums for each level of cover and get the policy that fits both your needs and budget.
  • Read up on what’s covered. Not only should you read and understood the product disclosure statement (PDS), you should go online and check out reviews of the policy.
  • Check out any additional options available. If you’re planning specific activities or travelling with valuable items, make sure your policy offers optional extras to provide the cover you need.

Need to make a claim? What you need to do

  1. Give immediate notice. Let Allianz know about your claim as soon as possible. Fill in and send the claims form to the client services department, making sure to provide all the necessary information. Get in touch with Allianz Assist in the case of a medical emergency.
  2. Provide all relevant supporting documentation. Additional information includes police reports, written statements from travel providers, valuations, medical reports, proof of ownership and original receipts.
  3. Be honest. You are required by law to tell Allianz everything you know so that its assessors can make a decision about whether or not to approve your claim. If it’s found that your information is false or lacking, your claim might not be honoured and your policy cancelled.
