Best time to visit Mount Buller
Late July and August
Though the ski season starts in early June, there is often not enough snow cover for all the trails to be open. Late July is the peak ski season with the best snow conditions. The temperatures are the coldest, which is best for making snow to ensure more runs are open.
The winter months of July and August hover around the freezing mark with the most snowfall. While Mount Buller’s lifts are open during shoulder months of the winter season, June and October, the slightly warmer temperatures mean there is no guarantee of snow.
The hottest time of the year is late summer until early spring, from January to March, with February having the warmest temperatures. During those months, temperatures range from 10°C to 20°C.
The rest of the year, late spring, early winter and early summer have temperatures from 0°C to 10°C.
