Late July and August are the best times to visit Mount Buller if you're looking for peak snow conditions for skiing and snowboarding.
Though the ski season starts in early June, there is often not enough snow cover for all the trails to be open yet. Late July is the peak ski season and when you'll generally get the best snow conditions, plus the temperatures are the coldest, which is best for making snow to ensure more runs are open.
While Mount Buller’s lifts are also open during shoulder months of the winter season, June and October, the slightly warmer temperatures mean there is no guarantee of snow.
When is the cheapest time to visit Mount Buller?
The shoulder season months of early July and mid-September to October are when you’ll find the best deals, but not always the best snow.
The conditions aren't the best during these months, which often means closed runs and fewer lifts running, which drives down demand and prices for accommodation.
Lift passes are also often discounted right at the beginning and right at the end of the season, meaning you can bag a real bargain on a ski holiday.
