Best time to visit the Hunter Valley

Autumn (March to May) is the best season to visit the Hunter Valley as the temperatures are pleasant with minimal rain. During these months, the landscape gets painted with hues of orange, yellow, green and brown, making it a photographer's delight. Autumn is one of the Hunter Valley's peak seasons though, so prices may be high and crowds many.

Another peak season is summer. This is popular for weddings, families and those hoping to catch the vibrant atmosphere of harvest season. However, it does come with intermittant thundestorms which may rain on your parade.

For the cheapest flights and accommodation, visit in June, July, September and October, excluding the school holidays. These months still have plenty to offer but tend to be on the cold side which keeps visitors away.
