Las Vegas is a city synonymous with partying and all manner of entertainment, where millions flock every year and spend billions on tourism (and the casinos). But when exactly is the best time to visit the iconic town?
March–May and September–November
Offering the favourable weather that's perfect for the poolside, but not roasting hot, March-May (springtime) and September-November (autumn) are some of the best times to go. They're also outside of the busy summer months when Vegas gets packed with those looking for a pool party during the summer and during the break over Christmas/New Years.
If you're not bothered by cooler weather, early December is also a great time as things get quiet right before the holidays and there are minimal conventions jacking up the price of accommodation. The downside is that some shows won’t be on during this time and some of the casinos and hotels use this quiet period to complete some refurbishments. The upside is that this is usually the quietest time, so you won’t be swarmed by the summer crowds. We’ve had a look at a few hotels to start you off. They might not be the most affordable, but we think they are a good starting point regardless.
Las Vegas is one of America's most popular destinations. Offering something for everyone, this desert city is where you'll find epic pool parties, big names on stage, endless gaming options and unbeatable nightlife.
Being a few hours' drive from Los Angeles and a quick flight from many cities in the USA and Canada, it's a popular weekend destination for North Americans. Weekend rates at hotels can easily be double or triple the mid-week rates, but if you're looking to party, the weekends are when you'll find it.
Best time to go to Las Vegas, weather-wise: Visit from March-May and from September to November to avoid the blistering summer months.
Cheapest time to visit Las Vegas: July and August is the hottest time of year, with temperatures reaching the high 30s to low 40s, when spending time outdoors uncomfortable, but if you’re heading to Las Vegas for gaming and shows, this is the best time to get a bargain. Sunday to Thursday tend to be the cheapest nights to book accommodation.

When products are grouped in a table or list, the order in which they are initially sorted may be influenced by a range of factors including price, fees and discounts; commercial partnerships; product features; and brand popularity. We provide tools so you can sort and filter these lists to highlight features that matter to you.
We try to take an open and transparent approach and provide a broad-based comparison service. However, you should be aware that while we are an independently owned service, our comparison service does not include all providers or all products available in the market.
Some product issuers may provide products or offer services through multiple brands, associated companies or different labelling arrangements. This can make it difficult for consumers to compare alternatives or identify the companies behind the products. However, we aim to provide information to enable consumers to understand these issues.
