The five best shows on Foxtel in 2016

Alex Kidman 5 November 2015 NEWS

Foxtel has announced its 2016 lineup. Here’s the best that the Pay TV provider has to offer.

Foxtel’s announcement of its 2016 lineup included a large number of locally produced returning series, several new Australian productions to add to its slate as well as a number of new series from international partners such as the BBC and HBO. Here’s the pick of the bunch for 2016.

Game Of Thrones (Showcase)

Season six of HBO's adaptation of George R.R. Martin's fantasy epic promises to overtake the books upon which it is based, but can it keep up the level of thrills, kills and nudity? There's only one way to find out.

Outcast (FX)

Based on a comic book series, Outcast is a 10-part series starring Patrick Fugit, Philip Glenister and Brent Spiner that deals with the story of a man whose family and loved ones have been the subject of demonic possession since he was a child.

Westworld (Showcase)

Based on the 1973 science fiction classic movie, with a cast including Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris and Evan Rachel Wood.

Vinyl (Showcase)

An HBO drama with a pilot directed by Martin Scorsese, produced by Mick Jagger, promising a view of the music industry in the era of punk, disco and the dawn of hip-hop. Not one for the kids, then.

War and Peace (BBC First)

If your tastes run more towards epic novels, there's nothing that's more epic than War and Peace. Produced by the BBC, and starring Lily James, Paul Dano, James Norton, Jim Broadbent, Gillian Anderson, Greta Scacchi, Stephen Rea, Ken Stott and Ade Edmondson.

Here’s the full rundown of all the new and returning shows that Foxtel’s announced today, and the channels they will run on.

I missed the final episode of Night Manager (Australia) where can I find it, or will there be a repeat in the future?

      Hi Minmin,

It seems only episode 1 of The Night Manager is available on Foxtel Play at the moment. I’d suggest keeping an eye on Foxtel Play’s listings.
