You've probably heard of Kayla Itsines and you may have heard of her Bikini Body Guide (BBG) or 12 Week Challenge. The success of Kayla's BBG program is undeniable. In 2018 the personal trainer mogul made it to the number 5 position on the Financial Review's Young Rich List. Her net worth is reported at $486 million, so she must be doing something right.

The secret behind the success is that Kayla designs her workouts so they can be done anywhere. No need to sign up to a gym, you can do her workouts on the living room floor while watching Netflix. Considering most gyms cost $10–$25 a week and access to Kayla's BBG workouts runs at about $4 a week, it's not surprising that the BBG is a much more enticing option to people.

The BBG comes with a 12-week program that details a series of 28-minute workouts. Each one becomes progressively harder so your body doesn't plateau as you become stronger. You complete your workouts three times a week, plus you'll get a recommended meal plan with some general diet advice.

Hello ladies!! Happy #transformationtuesday to all 😄💃🏻 This is my 1 year transformation, still cannot believe it! My longest one ever archive🎊 Last year on January I’ve started my first #12weekchallenge of #bbg on the @sweat app, THE BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE!!! At the beginning I was so scared, I was sure I would have fallen again after a week with @Kayla, like I did in the past with other workouts 😞 ...BUT☝🏻 not this time! I’m currently at bbg 5.0 💪🏻🤩 I worked a lot on myself in the past years to find my happiness and my peace, that’s why you didn’t see me for so long time, and I finally found everything I was always searching for!!!✨😌 I’m constantly happy and full of energy like never before!!✌🏻 Kayla and the bbg played a key role in this my long way, and I wanna say THANK YOU with all my heart❤️ Opening again my IG and posting was a huge hard decision for me, so I hope you all will understand me🙏🏻

1/23/18 -> Today. This is my one year progress with BBG. Slightly fluffier last year 😂. Posting before and after photos is a way to keep me on track. It’s to hold myself accountable, but more importantly, it’s a reminder to not give myself crap for wanting to indulge sometimes. If I want fries, I’ll eat it. If I want wine, I’ll drink it. Everything in moderation is okay, and yes, It’s okay to “treat myself” sometimes. It’s the start of week 2 of the #sweat12wc and I bet everyone is still pretty excited & pumped? If you just got into fitness routine you’re probably pretty sore too. If you’re new to fitness you should also know that it demands quite a lot from your body to recover & get used to the new demands, making you more prone to getting sick at the beginning. And I know pretty well how 😡 you get for getting sick just when you had a good thing going. And you feel like pushing it. You believe more is better than less. Maybe you’re afraid you fall off the wagon if you take a day off? Either way, to any one of you wondering if you should workout when you’re sick, the answer is simple: DON’T ⛔️. To get the best results possible you want to build a routine you can maintain, a lifestyle you can continue & keep up not only for 12 weeks but for the rest of your life. And to make that kind of routine you need to take care of your body. To treasure it & to listen to it. Not work against it & burn it out in the first mile. So take the time to recover & to get better. The workouts will still be there waiting for you. My first round of BBG after having my 2nd baby took about 14 weeks and as you can see, it was only the beginning. Sept 2017 ➡️ Jan 2019: proud of myself and also grateful to this community- finished 60 weeks of sweat app. For anyone thinking it’s taken me 60 weeks to reach here, it has taken close to 70. I took breaks, I repeated weeks which I didn’t count, I missed workouts. I realized that I can’t put a pause button on life, the time is passing by whether I choose to count it or not. I didn’t do abs workout this week, instead I did legs, arms and yoga. I was berating myself at being imperfect but then I thought what’s perfection if not another excuse for not giving my best every day? When I first started working out, my motivation and inspiration came from looking at @kayla_itsines #bbgprogress photos. Seeing women change their lives and bodies into something they were proud of was inspiring and motivating and I wanted to be one of those women who felt comfortable in their body. I’ve spent many years being uncomfortable in my body and finally had enough. I looked to all my bbg girls for daily motivation and inspiration when I made this account, but you have to find that motivation in yourself to get through this journey! ⠀ One thing I want people to know is that it is okay to be your own motivation 🙌🏼 When I took my before photos a couple years ago...I wanted to delete them so many times. However, I am SO glad I kept them to see how far I’ve come! ⠀ I’ve never been as comfortable in my body as I am now. A lot has happened between these photos...lost weight, gained weight, lost weight again...but I’ve gotten to the point where I barley even weigh myself anymore. I go by how I feel, I listen to my body, and I am finally learning balance with food!! I’m glad Kayla’s program finally gave me the confidence in my body and can’t wait to continue the #12weekchallenge with bbg stronger! 👊🏼💪🏼

#flashbackfriday then and now. The start of my postpartum fitness journey at 7 weeks pp vs 15 weeks of BBG. Weight: 152 lbs now 133 lbs Body fat %: 38 now 32 Muscle mass %: 58.7 now 64.5 BMI: 29 now 25.7 I remember feeling really discouraged at the beginning. My body felt so alien to me, stiff and sore all over. I was certain that because I was in decent shape pre pregnancy and kept as active as I could during, that when I was ready to start working out again, it would be relatively easy and that after giving birth, I would have quickly shed the baby weight. I was wrong on all accounts. I was of course proud and amazed at what my body had done, but still disappointed with how much work I had ahead of me. But, I was determined to keep at it, chipping away one workout at a time, even if I didn’t manage one all week, I didn’t give it. It may have taken me 19 weeks to complete one round of @kayla_itsines 12 week bbg, but I did it. Did I modify exercises like crazy? Yes, so many. Did I still modify exercises in today’s workout? Yes, I still can’t manage to do push-ups without being on my knees and blocking a milk duct in the process. But with each day, I can feel myself getting stronger and more confident in my abilities and that’s what matters. The 12 week challenge is amazing and I’m so glad to be taking part but my journey will not end after 12 weeks, fitness and a healthy balanced diet is a lifestyle so I don’t expect anything drastic to happen over night and you shouldn’t either. Bit of a #transformationtuesday to keep myself motivated! 💪 The first photo is from last year at the start of the #bbg as my before photo. The second is end of week 4 of Round 2. A little while after I finished the 12 weeks I settled a bit with my body and didn’t try and maintain the progress I had achieved which set me back from my goals quite a bit. I went to the gym often but my diet and mentality wasn’t in check for so long so I decided to start #bbg1 again.
