Editor’s favourite products from January 2018

Alexandra Hourigan 2 February 2018 NEWS

From shoes to makeup and designer shirts to furniture, let's look at all our favourite products from the first month of the year!

And just like that, it’s time to wave goodbye to January and realise we probably won’t keep to those new year's resolutions as much as we thought. Even though this month feels like it was gone in a flash, it didn’t pass us by without us snagging some goodies that we’re absolutely living for.

Keep reading for all the goodies we’ve fallen in love with from the month of January.

Monthly Favourites:

1. Tarte Shape Tape Hydrating Foundation

Where to buy: Tarte

When I purchased this foundation I had heard mixed reviews, and I wasn’t sure if it was going to live up to the hype. Safe to say, this foundation blew me away. I suffer from dry skin and this hydrating foundation left me with dewy glowing skin. I absolutely love this product.

2. Polka dot tie up one piece

Where to buy: Princess Polly

I’m absolutely living for one piece swimsuits at the moment. Plus, polka dots are definitely up there with one of my favourite trends at the moment. This one piece is not only super trendy but flattering as well, making it a top purchase from the last month!

3. Kat Von D Liner

Where to buy: Sephora

I’m a little late to the party with this beauty product, but boy oh boy, my eyes have been opened. This Kat Von D tattoo liner is hands down a new Holy Grail product of mine. I struggle doing eyeliner, but I swear this liner makes it easier. I can get a precise line without any ink bleeding or smudging and that’s worth a purchase!

4. Black Aldo stilettos

Where to buy: THE ICONIC

I’ve always been a huge fan of this style of shoe but have never really found a pair that worked with my feet. Until now. These are not only a super classic and stylish shoe but they are also comfy and that’s pretty damn important. I didn’t experience any hurt feet or blisters, so these get a 10 out of 10 from me.

5. Comme des Garcons Play shirt

Where to buy: SSENSE

I think every fashion girl needs at least one designer tee. Yes, it's a lot of money for a white T-shirt, but I guarantee you'll get a lot more wear out of it than that $250 party dress. This Comme Des Garcons number is the perfect piece to layer under dresses or tie up over shorts.

6. 721 High Rise Skinny Jeans

Where to buy: THE ICONIC

Levi's are the ultimate cool-girl jeans and this style is slimming, not too stretchy and unbelievably comfortable. If you're looking for a skinny jean you can actually sit down in, this is the style for you.

7. Mario Badescu Aloe Spray

Where to buy: MECCA

Made with delicious smelling herbal extracts and rosewater for a spritz of hydration, this is perfect for dehydrated, tight and uncomfortable skin. Spray day or night for a boost of hydration or use it to set makeup or prime your face. The options are endless. Plus, it’s gentle and non-irritating, so it's safe for all skin types.

8. Saddle Dining Chair

Where to buy: Freedom Furniture

Freedom has just permanently dropped the prices across most of its stock, so this is a great time to pick up furniture. I'd been looking for a statement chair to use at my mini home office that could also double as a dining chair if I have extra people over for dinner. This one is perfect. It's leather, comfortable and distinct, but it also blends in perfectly with most modern decor aesthetics.

9. Unchained Melody Layered necklace

Where to buy: Princess Polly

At the moment, it’s all about the accessories, especially the layered necklace look. Rather than purchasing three or four different items of jewellery, take the fuss out of it with this amazing necklace from Princess Polly. It’s four necklaces in one – however, just make sure you store it right or it’s going to get tangled.

10. Jouer lip liner

Where to buy: Cult Beauty

I was never a big lip-liner person. Most of the time I’d just use a liquid lipstick to overline my lips. All the other liners I've tried didn't last very long and would rub off easily – until now. This Jouer lip liner comes in a multitude of shades and I genuinely want them all. It lasts so long and is so incredibly pigmented that you’ll definitely get your wear out of them.
