Berlin flights from $708 return
Get to Oktoberfest on the cheap - all departing cities under $800.Scoot announced it was adding Berlin to its long-haul itinerary just two months ago and Skyscanner has found the lowest sale fares yet on the new route.
The cheapest flights take off from Perth to Berlin for $708 roundtrip on select dates between 29 October to 21 November.
You can also depart from the Gold Coast for $775, Melbourne for $790 and Sydney for $798 return. Prices do not include checked baggage or in-flight meals but these can be added on for a fee.
All flights involve a layover in Singapore and some are quite long so take the opportunity to leave the airport and spend the day exploring a new city. Singapore Changi airport is one of our favourite layover airports as they offer a free guided tour of the city.
Travel is for the European autumn so you can expect cool weather but Berlin is filled with indoor activities, not to mention it’s legendary nightlife, so as long as you pack accordingly you should still have a fun vacation.
Travel is for select dates from September to November so check out our sample fares below to pick out your best dates.
You can book flights at these prices now through Skyscanner but seats are on sale until sold out so get in quick before they’re gone for good.
How good are these fares?
You're going to be saving upwards of $191 compared to the starting fares for the new route so this is definitely a great deal.
The best time to visit Berlin is from May to September when the weather is perfect for people watching in parks and cafes and strolling through the city. September and October have heaps of festivals for you to try out, including Oktoberfest, the Festival of Lights and Musikfest. While most days skim outside of Oktoberfest, some routes allow you to experience the festival which officially runs from 22 September to 7 October this year in Munich, however in Berlin celebrations tend to run a little longer from 21 September to 14 October.
So flight routes such as Sydney-Berlin from 2 September to 10 October and Melbourne-Berlin from 6 October to 7 November work to catch the event.
Most of the dates on offer are for travel in October and November so you can expect temperatures to drop and get very close to 0°C. If you can handle the cold then this will be a great time for budget travellers to grab some deals on hotels and activities.
