How to “try on” the perfect brow with Benefit Cosmetics
Benefit Cosmetics is here to show you if you really can rock a higher arch – without touching your brows at all.
If you've always thought that you'd be able to rock a thicker brow or a more arched angle, and never been brave enough to actually ask for it, your time is now.
We don't blame you for being anxious – brow changes are a big step that you've got to commit to, so you've got to know if you're ready for weeks of touch ups or perpetual surprise if it's not quite right.
Meanwhile, our faves at Benefit Cosmetics have developed a program that will change the way you experiment with your brows. It's called the Brow Try-On, and it's exactly what the name says: an opportunity to try on different styles, colours and shapes of brows with zero of the real world commitment and waxing pain.
The app uses algorithm-based technology to map your face, giving you a more accurate reading and using really realistic brow images to showcase your potential new look.
It includes 15 different brow styles and even has sliding scales for shade, arch, thickness, definition and placement, allowing you to fully customise your experiment. So you can even give yourself thin, dark, 90s brows a la Gwen Stefani if you were really dedicated. Imagine the selfies!
At the moment the app is available on the Benefit Cosmetics website, where you can upload pre-existing photos or take one anew depending on your device's camera capabilities. Then get experimenting! If you want to just see what all the fuss is about without having to take a photo, there are models you can use as well.
According to the website, the app allows you to "Glance into the virtual vanity and see the transformative power of brows for yourself! Play with looks and styles, shapes and colours in real time to find the brow that suits you best". So it's pretty damn impressive!
Even better? After you've decided on a look, it will suggest the perfect brow product to achieve it in real life. Benefit Cosmetics is currently stocked in Sephora, Adore Beauty and StrawberryNET in Australia, so you can check it out once you're done.
