The best beauty trends from MBFWA 2019
MBFWA isn't just about the clothes.
Trends are always something that come and go (and come and go and come and go). It's the same within the beauty industry. I mean, two years ago I wouldn't have been caught dead in an 80's blue eyeshadow look, but come 2019, I'm loving the shade.
Fashion week has always been an array of beautiful trends that everyone is set to be loving – sooner rather than later. Keep scrolling some of the hottest beauty trends taking off at MBFWA.
Runways rocking the trend: Bec + Bridge and KARLA ŠPETIĆ
Grab your mum's hair crimper because this trend is BACK. Crimped hair was featured on a number of runways in multiple ways. Sometimes the hair was sectioned in an artistic way and other times it was a full head of crimped hair. Regardless, prepare your hair for the crimp because this hair trend is back and better than ever.
Runways rocking the trend: P.E Nation, Bec + Bridge and Jonathan Simkhai
A trend that has started to work its way into the beauty industry and now into MBFWA is glass skin. Models featured beautifully dewy skin that worked perfectly with the lighting of the runway. This makeup trend added a stunning extra touch to the outfits without stealing the show.
Runways rocking the trend: KARLA ŠPETIĆ, Tigerlily and LEO & LIN
It's too bad if you threw out all your headbands from when you were nine years old because hair accessories are back with a vengeance – and yes, we're on board. From thin delicate headbands to chunky yet funky hair clips, fashion week featured a whole lot of accessories.
Orange smoky tones
Runways rocking the trend: P.E Nation, Thurley and Bec + Bridge
Warm shadow tones have been a big trend over the years. However, 2019 has definitely taken a step more towards colour in makeup and fashion week was definitely filled with colour – especially orange. Orange eyeshadow was a big mood among the models on the runway and smoked out to really make it pop and pop it did! We loved how it worked on a number of models with different tones and looks, showing how universal this colour really is.
Runways rocking the trend: Alice McCall and KARLA ŠPETIĆ
Eyeliner isn't necessarily a trend in itself, but how about graphic liner wings? You can bet that was having a moment this week. I mean, some of those wings were so big we were waiting for the models to fly off the runway.
